Network Security Architect

Aliro is seeking a Network Security Architect to help shape our solutions for Quantum Secure Communications (“QSC”). The ideal candidate has deep experience with network security products and services, and is very familiar with how these products are deployed and used by Enterprises, Government entities, and Service Providers. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned networking pro who’s excited by the prospect of defining and building the next generation of secure networks.

Responsibilities

  • User Research - Liaise with key stakeholders inside DoD, Intelligence Community organizations, Network Service Providers, and commercial clients in financial services and other security-conscious industries; conduct user interviews and develop user stories.
  • Roadmap Collaboration - Act as the customer voice in collaboration with our CPO, Engineering leadership and Field leaders to develop a roadmap tuned to customer needs.
  • Product Strategy - work with the team ​​to strategize the best integration point for QSC with specific customers and their existing classical network stack.
  • Product Definition - Help define and communicate our product offerings to market stakeholders, prospects and customers with emphasis on security applications and protocols.
  • User Experience - Work with our product design resources to develop great user experiences.  Interface with customers to pilot our solution usability and gather feedback for further iteration.
  • Competitive Research - Perform ongoing competitive analysis to ensure Aliro is ahead and differentiated in the secure quantum networking market. 
  • Ecosystem Development - Identify strategic partner targets; collaborate with the senior leadership team to establish and nurture these partnerships. 
  • Proposal Assistance - As a pro in explaining our solution value and function, assist in drafting proposals and grant applications.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years product development/technical experience in network security
  • Proven track record architecting/designing/shipping complex security products
  • Deep experience with current best practices for enterprise and government cybersecurity and cryptographic protocols
  • Ability to assess the security proofs, standards docs, and side-channel attack surfaces of QSC protocols and hardware. Use these assessments to help shape our product and supplier strategy
  • Experience with quantum technologies a plus
  • Experience with quantum networking protocols a plus (examples BBM92, BB84, E91)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience writing grant proposals a plus

Senior Software Engineer (C++, Linux) - Network Stack Team

Aliro is developing foundational technologies in Quantum Networking and Communications. As a senior member of our team, you will be contributing to this foundation by helping us develop a quantum network stack. We are looking for someone who is motivated and excited by the opportunity to engage in a transformative field of research and engineering. 

We are seeking a Senior level C++ software developer to join our growing team. 

You will work with our Network Stack team designing new software systems and components for Quantum Networking. 

What you’ll do

  • Leverage your very strong software engineering and objected oriented design skills and experience to help us develop a quantum networking stack. 
  • Be an integral part of defining the next generation of quantum infrastructure and technology as you build the software needed to make quantum networks a reality.

Required background

  • 8+ years of professional experience writing robust, enterprise-quality C++ software on Linux-based systems. 
  • Very strong objected oriented design background.
  • Experience designing and building new software subsystems (vs modifying or fixing existing ones).
  • Experience designing and building software for testability and maintainability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Must play well with others.
  • Excellent debugging skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
  • Comfortable working in a new field and designing software from scratch.
  • Good understanding of the software development life cycle.

Quantum Physicist - Simulator Team

Aliro is developing foundational technologies for quantum networking and distributed quantum computing. Aliro is a growing startup with about 25 employees and a customer base that includes national laboratories, academic institutions, telecommunications infrastructure providers, and private sector quantum research groups.

We are hiring remote or hybrid (Boston area) research scientists who are excited to innovate at the cutting edge of quantum information science and technology.  As a Quantum Physicist you will have a diverse role at Aliro, in which you will develop Aliro’s Simulation platform, provide professional simulation services to customers, and lead original research projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with a talented team of software engineers, quantum physicists, and product leads.
  • Develop Aliro Simulator, a discrete event simulation platform for quantum networks.
  • Lead original research projects for publication or patent in the field of quantum networking.
  • Derive realistic models of quantum network hardware and implement scalable simulations.

As a software engineer on the Simulator team, you will develop a scalable cloud platform for simulation, optimization, and design of quantum networks. 

What you’ll do

  • Work with a talented team of software engineers, quantum physicists, and product leads.
  • Develop Aliro Simulator, a discrete event simulation platform for quantum networks.
  • Design APIs to integrate Aliro Simulator with Aliro products and 3rd party software.
  • Build fullstack software applications and scalable cloud-based simulation pipelines.

Required background

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
